Ten Things In a Hodge Podge Give-Away II
Posted By FarmerJ on April 26, 2011
Well, folks ~ here it is…the second Ten Things In a Hodge Podge Give-Away! If you were so brave enough to enter the inaugural give-away, and were relieved saddened you didn’t win, here’s your chance to win the next round of fabulous prizes things I’ve held on to far too long!
The official pink basket seemed to be a magnet for things somewhat related to spring as I continued to sort through cupboards and drawers here in the ol’ barn house. Like before, there were nine items, so I added the gum. Hopefully that will entice you enough to enter the drawing!
So, once again, I am gathered here before you with this hodge podge of items, ready to send them off to you! All items are either brand new or very gently used. Be sure to click on the photo above so you can get a better view of these fabulous prizes cute trinkets and do-dads needing a new home. Here’s a list of what you will get ~
1. Set of Two Framed Prints ~ These adorable prints are black and white with a splash of color. The print on the left is of a little boy on his knee handing a long-stem red rose to a little girl. The splash of color effect is in the hats and coats the children are wearing, and in the rose. The print on the right is of a little girl smelling a long-stem red rose. The splash of color effect is in the hat, coat, and rose, and ever-so-slightly in the little girl’s hair. Condition: Like new, or extremely gently used. Actually, the prints have never been hung, but after years and years of being moved around from drawer to storage box back to drawer, the panels may show the ever-so-slightest wear…if you really look hard.
2. Garden Journal ~ This 54-page journal includes places to record first and last frost dates, garden chore list for each season, seed starting notes, plant information, garden references, and much more! A must-have for every home gardener! [How's that for a sales pitch?] Condition: New. Still in factory wrapper.
3. Aster Seed Packet ~ Because how can I possibly give away a garden journal and not include a packet of seeds? These Crego Mixed Colors are excellent for cutting or bedding. ‘One of the most popular cut flowers, this mixture features large, chrysanthemum-type double flowers on 2-foot high stems. Colors include blue, red, pink and white. Easy to grow plants will bloom throughout summer. Ideal in borders, rock gardens and containers.’ Condition: New. Still in factory wrapper.
4. Springtime Pop-Top Container ~ Stinkin’ cute scroll of flowers, butterflies, busy bees, and dragonflies in refreshing shades of pinks, purples, yellows and greens. Perfect for collecting prayer notes, loose change, button collections, or anything else your heart desires! I’d love for you to have this in your home. We can be jar sisters. I have two more still here in the ol’ barn house. Condition: New. There was no factory wrapper.
5. Bath & Body Works ‘Moonlight Path’ Body Butter ~ A 2 oz jar of pure nasal delight! Plus, according to Bath & Body Works, it works great when you ‘apply liberally to elbows, knees, feet, and any area in need of intensive hydration.’ That’s why I want to send this to you ~ because a mere 2 oz. isn’t possibly enough to hydrate this set of scales. Condition: New. I was even careful not to stick the end of my nose into it while giving it the sniff test.
6. 1-Dozen Large Hibiscus Parasol Straws ~ Just what you’ve been wanting, yes?! Vibrant pink, yellow, blue and green umbrella straws. I know you’ve got a set of these queued up in your Amazon wish list! You could even pop the top on your new Springtime Pop-Top Container and stick these stylish straws in it as a centerpiece. Okay, no. But, think how good that sweet tea or pink lemonade will taste through one of these babies! Condition: New. Still in the factory wrapper.
7. ‘Straight from the Heart’ Favorite Recipes Cookbook and Recipe Cards ~ This is a special little cookbook, for a number of reasons. Mostly because it reminds me of the day my Buddy and I took a little venture to a publisher warehouse and lost spent a couple of hours perusing the walls of cookbooks. I’ve realized I don’t really need this cookbook to remind me of that special day, because my Buddy was quite sneaky and purchased a different cookbook as a gift for me right under my oblivious nose. This book is also special because of the long standing history of the company whose employees shared these recipes ~ a medical company who worked 24 hours a day/7 days a week to fill the void of supplies to soldiers in World War II, resulting in them receiving the prestigious Army – Navy “E” Award. Finally, it’s special because all proceeds from the sale of this cookbook benefit the Cornerstone Soup Kitchen ~ a kitchen that feeds over 12,000 people annually through cooked meals and food drives. Appropriately named ‘Straight from the Heart’, don’t you think? And, I’m tossing in ten [of course!] recipe cards that carry the heart theme through. Condition: New. There was no factory wrapper.
8. Handmade Cookie Press ~ Sweet little (ceramic?) cookie press that sports a flower burst design. Just as a little piece of proof that all things come together through Him, the center of the flower burst is…are you ready?…a heart. I swear that wasn’t planned! This truly is a basketful of fabulous prizes trinkets from my heart to yours! Oh, before I forget, there is a cookie recipe included with the press. Convenient, yes? Condition: New. Still in the…er…creator’s wrapper.
9. 8-Pack Extra ‘Fruit Sensations’ Gum ~ Eight (8) five-stick packages of ‘Island Cooler’ sugarfree gum. No worries. It’s been ‘Approved by the American Dental Association.’ It’s full of long lasting fruit flavor. It even ‘helps fight cavities by strengthening teeth.’ Really?! Anyway, I feel a whole lot better about giving you this gum than I did about giving away that Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup in the last give-away. Think of the cavities that winner might have as a result of eating that chocolate and peanut butter! Condition: ABC (already been chewed).
10. Vintage-Style Storage Tin ~ Lovely scene of a hummingbird fluttering over beautifully detailed pink Hibiscus flowers. Two shades of accenting green stripes round out the elegant look of this 5-inch diameter tin. It will diligently hold whatever bits and bobs you don’t put in your new Springtime Pop-Top Container! Condition: Like new. I don’t remember ever using this tin. I don’t even know what came in this tin. But, I obviously ate it because it’s empty now.
So! If you are interested in receiving this hodge podge of items, just leave us a comment before 11:59 p.m. CDST Saturday, April 30th. We will randomly draw the lucky winner while enjoying our coffee Sunday morning. The winner will be announced then, and your items will be ready to ship to you as soon as you provide us your mailing address.
There’s probably enough…belongings…around here that we can scrimp up something for a runner up, too. Unless, of course, you’re the only one who enters. Then, you’ll only win once. I’m just sayin’.
Oh! If you even half way like us, won’t you ‘Follow’ us? It warms my heart to know that I’m not just rattling to myself around here. No pressure, though. It’s not a condition of the give-away. The only condition to entering this give-away is that you have to promise not to send this stuff back to me!
One more oh! I am just kidding about the ABC gum. All of the wrappers are completely sealed. I haven’t chewed any of it.
Good luck ~ and be sure to check back on Sunday to see who the winner is! ♥

Wow… hope I win. I’m intrigued especially by the gardener’s journal, and the straws. No seriously! Dd’s graduation is next year and she wants a Beatle’s/60′s theme. I think those would be perfect, don’t you?
Well i did not win last time so I will try again!
I can see the asters blooming as i record the dates in the journa!
LOL
Luv ya bunches J!
hugs

Oh yes, Grace. I think those straws would be a great addition to your daughter’s party decor! I wince at the thought of telling you just how long I’ve been storing those things in my kitchen cabinet ~ we bought a bunch of them for Darling Husbie’s promotion party (a Luau) way back in either 2002 or 2003. Yipes! How insane is that? And, how is it possible so many years have passed so quickly?!
Good luck to you, my friend.
Mel, I actually thought of you when I came across the Garden Journal ~ you with your new trees and plants. I think the Asters would look beautiful alongside your front porch!
Good luck, Dearie ~ and, you know I love you right back.
Thought this was so cute. I love seeds and the girls love journals.
Heehee! Hi, Wendy. I’m sure the girls would love to help Mommy keep track of her flowers and plants with the journal.
Good luck to you!
I’m still overwhelmed by winning the runner-up prize, but I admit some of these hodge-podge goodies look fun!~
Hello, Ruth! It truly makes me smile that you were so delighted in winning the runner-up prize. You are a sweetheart for sending the ‘thank-you’ card, by the way.
Here’s to you having the luck of the draw again!
I didn’t enter last time but I’d love to win! Those straws are calling my name!
Hi, Amy. You might have to arm wrestle Grace over those silly straws! Heehee!
Wishing you lots of luck!
Oh! HERE WE GO AGAIN… you sent me gum for my birthday…but without teeth to chew, I’m glad you chewed it first…you did leave a little flavor! I am really tired of hearing about frost on the pumpkins…and seeds, I have the tea trying to germinate, if only we would get some sun! And the cookbooks…we both collect them, right? And the cookie cutters, we know about old ones…You know there is still a house full of hummingbirds…sooo…guess you realize what I will be wishing for! I love you!
I didn’t win last time so sign me up again. Thanks for the fun spring give away.
would love to own the cookie press and the seeds………..so count me in, you are a love giving all these away.

Gill ~ As much as you bake, I can really see you using that cookie press. Me? I’ve had it in the cookie cutter tin for…well…about 7 years now and I’ve never used it. Eeep!
LydiaLin ~ You’re another one I can see using that cookie press! Trust me, the blessing is all mine.
Good luck, Lovely Ladies!

Okay Buddie, I passed the first hodge podge drawing but I got my eyes on this one, I love these prints because these are the cards Darlin Hubbie has bought me for the last 3 years, so I have a collection, a good collection so deal me in this one, please.
I got behind on yours and your mother’s BLogs….You two are something!!! Love it! Do you happen to know anything about ‘rabbit droppings’ as fertilizer? The claim is it’s one of the best…never heard of it before. Your mother will need an extra edge on what she’s planning to do…as this late getting started season is dragging on. Just wondering. God bless you…and all those on your blog. … Until later, the gal from up the hill
Sheila! ~ I’m so glad to see you around again. You’ve been missed. I certainly hope you’re able to spend more time with us now.
Buddy! ~ Why didn’t you tell me you wanted those prints?! Heehee! I would have given them to you years ago.
Hiya, Scout! ~ No, I can’t say that I have any knowledge of fertilizing with bunny pellets…except that I’ve heard of people using them. Mom’s got a pretty green thumb, so she should be able to figure something out. Heehee!
Good luck in the drawing, Ladies!
Christmas in May it looks like…..Can I have a go at it? You’re making some smiles with this one…we all need a reason to these days…Take care everyone! Sue
Of course, Scout ~ I already had you counted from your previous post…you’ll only get your ‘name in the hat’ once, though! Heehee!
What a great idea for a giveaway! Rehoming those things.
What a great idea! Some of these items could be blessings to others! I want in for the next one please! God bless you!
Hi, Kentuckymama! I will certainly announce when we are ready to hold the next Hodge Podge Give-Away. I’ve still a lot of items to go through!
