Our Daily Bread: 18 ~ 24 April
Posted By FarmerJ on April 18, 2011
The menu plan was pretty much a flop the second half of last week. I had intended on getting to the store Thursday for the odds and ends ingredients I needed for various dishes, and, well, that didn’t happen for a myriad of reasons. So, I may ‘borrow’ a couple of those dinners for this week, since I still seem to be in a menu slump!
Monday ~ Mexican Rice Skillet [thanks to my buddy's suggestion]; Corn on the Cob
Tuesday ~ Chicken Primavera Fettuccine; Sweet Peas; Garlic Bread
Wednesday ~ Baja Chalupas; Spanish Rice; Sweet Corn
Thursday ~ Orange Chicken; Jasmine Rice; Homemade Egg Rolls
Friday ~ Strawberry French Toast Casserole; Sausage
Saturday ~ Homemade Pizza; Tossed Salad
Sunday ~ Honey Baked Ham; Sweet Potato Casserole; Green Beans; Buttery Croissants
Well, looking back at that, it actually sounds pretty good! Let’s just hope I can follow through with it. I will need to get to the store for a few things, though. If not, Plan B will be made on the fly once again.
I’m not entirely sure what I’ll be doing for dessert this week, but I’m thinking of some kind of pie, or two, for Easter Sunday. Darling Husbie love his pie, and it’s been awhile since I’ve baked him one.
Bon Appetit! ♥

All sounds Yummy, so glad this is on the front of your blog and I don’t have to look at those snakes, unless I scroll down. LOL
Oh gee…I hope the skillet dinner was OK! Hope y’all liked it! Strawberry french toast sounds so lovely!
Love and hugs, Dearie!
Sounds good, as usual! Sure glad there’s nothing that calls for those awful ugly little “things” that you put on your blog! I don’t know how you could think they are fascinating? Like I read in the left side of your screen…Keep Calm and Carry On!
Sounds like it won’t be long before your Uncle Dudley and Virginia, and of course, Rosie, who will explore your whole property, hunting rabbits and whatever else she finds..heard she likes skunks too! Till later, I love you!
No, the only snake I’ve ever eaten was rattlesnake…and I didn’t make it. As Grandma used to say, “Pooey!” The snake was good dipped in something like a Ranch sauce, but there’s no way I could make it. At least under normal circumstances. Heehee!
We haven’t talked to Uncle Dudley in quite awhile now. We sure are desperate for him! I don’t think I’ve ever felt so ‘needy’.
Love you!
