Our Daily Bread: 21 ~ 27 June

Posted By on June 21, 2010

Gracious me!  It’s been quite a while since I’ve planned a menu, hasn’t it?  I am so very thankful for my Darling Husbie who works so hard to provide for us.  We are so extremely blessed with ample food that I’ve been able to get by with ‘winging’ it ~ being able to pull together whatever sounds good at the time.  Praise God!  But, it’s time to get back to organization.  You know me with my OCD!

I’m trying to utilize the crock pot and my Masterful Grill Meister [aka Darling Husbie] more right now.  The house is warm with the afternoon sun, and schedules are full and always changing, so these two options provide great solutions to both issues.  Let’s see what we come up with, shall we?

Monday ~ Red Beans and Rice; Tossed Salad; Sweet Cornbread

Tuesday ~ Sloppy Joes; Green and Wax Beans; Homemade Potato Salad; Sesame Seed Buns

Wednesday ~ Pan Fried Pork Chops; Corn Casserole; Mashed Potatoes; Tossed Salad

Thursday ~ Beef Stir Fry; Jasmine Rice; Crab Rangoons [I love these things!  But, I've never made them.]

Friday ~ Honey Lime Grilled Chicken; Baked Potatoes; Sugar Snap Peas; Tossed Salad

Saturday ~ Coney Island Hot Dogs; Tater Tots

Sunday ~ Beef Stew; Tossed Salad

For dessert, I think I’ll make a Strawberry Crisp as a switch from the Strawberry Pies I’ve been making with the fresh-picked berries from the garden.  That, and a Key Lime Poke Cake should get those sweet taste buds flowin’!

What are ya’ll havin’ at your homestead?

  1. tonight will be lasagna with biscuits and green beans.
    Key lime pie for dessert

  2. That sounds delicious, Mel! Key Lime Pie is one of Darling Husbie’s favorite.

I’ve been craving lasagna for a while. I saw a recipe for lasagna roll-ups I thought I might have to explore sometime soon. It may need to be sooner rather than later now!

  3. popped by to say hi, missed talking to you,

  4. Hiya, Gill! It’s so nice to see you again. We’ve been keeping pretty busy this summer ~ haven’t been doing a very good job at keeping the blog current with activities…let alone visiting friends. I will make a point to pop on over soon!
