Our Daily Bread: 19 ~ 25 April
Posted By FarmerJ on April 19, 2010
Did last week even happen?! I’m not sure it did. I really think Darling Husbie must be playing tricks on me and just turned the page in my planner. Oy!
Monday ~ Creamy Beef Noodle; Asparagus Spears (from the garden!); Sweet Corn
Tuesday ~ Green Chile Burritos topped with lettuce and tomatoes
Wednesday ~ Red Beans and Rice; Tossed Salad; Cheddar Biscuits
Thursday ~ Pork Chili; Cornbread
Friday ~ Chicken Stir Fry over Jasmine Rice
Saturday ~ Tostadas; Spanish Rice; Hominy
Sunday ~ Albandigas Soup; Tortillas
Oh, how I love early crop season! Our broccoli plants are still just babies underneath the grow lights, but our local grocery store had broccoli on sale last week for .99 a bunch ~ and they were generous with their ‘bunching’. My favorite way to eat it is Broccoli Salad. I’m kicking myself for not getting more.
Darling Husbie and Abigail found the bucket of ice cream in the freezer Friday night ~ no need to say anything more there…except that I need to come up with something else for dessert this week. Heehee! I’m thinking about making a Buttermilk Pie. It’s incredibly delicious and comforting, yet light. I’m not sure what other goodies I’ll make, but if Husbie keeps working me like he did this past weekend, we’ll need some more calories! [The slough is looking oh so much better, though! Tons of dead trees and shrubs, concrete and plain ol' garbage hauled out. I just have to say once again ~ thank God for Tym the Tractor with his grapple attachment. Shew!]
Whatch-ya’ll cookin’ at your homestead this week?! ♥

Hi J,
I am krm223 on PH. The link for the broccoli salad is not working for me. I love your blog, and I have kept you up in my prayers from when you posted about the fire. God is good.
Kristy
Hi Kristy! Thank you so much for visiting ~ I didn’t know you read my ramblings, but am delighted that you do.
Thanks for pointing out the problem with the link to the Broccoli Salad recipe. It’s fixed now. It was complete operator error with the use of the ‘Ctrl C’ and ‘Ctrl V’ function. Oy!
You are so right. God is good. God is awesome! He is so incredibly faithful. We have received many, many blessings as a result of that horrific night. It’s really mind boggling when I try to think about it ~ but I just have to know it was all His will. Thank you for your prayers. They’re very much appreciated.
Thank you so much for fixing the link. I am not a broccoli fan, but my mom, aunt and grandma are. I found your blog through tenthingsfarm. I love both of your blogs, as they are so encouraging. I read them in between calls (I’m an operator for a hospital) while at work.
You’re welcome, Kristy. I hope your family enjoys the Broccoli Salad. That really is something I could eat until I made myself sick. Heehee!
Thank you for your sweet comments about the blog, though I think mine could never compare to Laura’s at TenThingsFarm. She is a wealth of knowledge and is flat out ingenious ~ she’s a gem!
I hope you continue to visit. Wishing you abundant blessings!
