Prairie Farmstead Mascot

After a year and a half, the Prairie Farmstead finally has a mascot!  It’s perfect ~ it’s a tractor with Farmer Dude, and it twirls and spins when the wind blows…which, in Nebraska, it’s easier to count the days it doesn’t blow.

Our mascot arrived in a surprise package from Arizona ~ making it even cooler, I think ~ along with several other country and good ol’ fashion Americana oriented treasures.  To our dear friends, G and V, a most heartfelt thank you!  You and your friendship to us are the real treasures, though.

Darling Husbie promptly placed Farmer Dude in the big garden plot, where he watches the crops and the front drive.  He’s managed nearly 40 mph winds so far without lying down on the job, so I think he’s got what it takes to stick around on the farmstead.    Farmer Dude has his work cut out for him, too, but he’s no slacker ~ I’ve noticed all the bunnies and squirrels congregate at the opposite end of the garden.

Like all the other tractors on Prairie Farmstead, it will get put inside for the winter, having fulfilled all the tasks of the summer and harvest seasons.  We’ll let Tym aka “Red” handle all the snow plowing.

Rest assured come springtime, Farmer Dude will once again stand proud ~ and he’ll be keepin’ an eye out for the Casita de Rapida to turn down the drive!

Thank you, again, Dear Ones!  Thank you for our care package ~ but most of all…thank you for being you!
