Love Is In the Air

Happy Valentine’s Day!
It’s been a very pleasant Valentine’s Day so far at the Farmstead. My Darling Husbie and I shared the pleasure of sipping our coffee together this leisurely morning ~ one of our simple treasures. We chatted a bit about various plans for the garden plots this year. I think we’re both very excited about gardening! I find digging in the earth, especially the rich earth we are blessed with here, is extremely therapeutic for me ~ and Husbie is a happy man when he gets seat time on his ol’ antique tractors.
Speaking of seat time, that’s exactly what Husbie’s enjoying at this very moment! We got about 6″ of snow accumulation yesterday. It’s deeper than that in some places because of the drifts caused by the 25 mph winds that came along with it. So my happy man is out on the Ford 860 plowing snow. He’s already plowed both the front and back drive; a little poo zone for Abigail ~ her legs are so short she’s literally up to her shoulders in this snow ~ and the neighbor’s driveway. Last time I caught him plowing the main dirt road just because he wanted more seat time. This time, though, the big grader has already been down the main road so he lost out on that. [Mwah! I love you, Lovie!]
As for me, I just finished reading what has got to be the most beautiful, the absolute best, love poem/play ever written. The story is about a young peasant women and a man of royalty who fall in love. The story perfectly depicts a powerful explanation of love in which the beloved asks to be her lover’s most valued possession. Love is portrayed as exclusive, possessive, passionate, invincible, persevering, and priceless. It is a beautiful picture of physical love between husband and wife. Marriage is to be a monogamous, permanent, self-giving unit, in which the spouses are intensely devoted and committed to each other, and take delight in each other. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.” – Genesis 2:24 The play? The amazing Song of Solomon.
Well, my King has returned inside after completing his seat time excursions. He’s expressed a power hunger, so this peasant woman is off to find some vittles for suppression. Heehee!
We do truly wish each of you a day filled with spectacular love and friendship with your most beloved!
